Position : Public Health Specialist (Infection Prevention & Control)

Summary:

The work schedule for this place is:

Duties

  • Incumbent serves as the an infection prevention and control (IPC) specialist and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance program coordinator for CDC Ethiopia’s health safety and the International Infection Control Program (IICP) at CDC headquarters in Atlanta beneath the direct supervision of the Division of Global Health Protection Program Director. The place is responsible for helping CDC Ethiopia, IICP, and companions within the implementation of actions to strengthen and construct IPC and AMR surveillance capability in Ethiopia for the prevention and management of healthcare-associated transmission of illnesses, comparable to COVID-19, in addition to antimicrobial-resistant organisms. Qualifications and Evaluations

  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years of public health experience; 2 years of experience in both a clinical health setting or in Infection Prevention and Control in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) is required.

EDUCATION: A Master’s (MPH, MSHP) degree in Public Health, Nursing, or Medicine is required.

LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Amharic is required. (This may be tested)

Skills and abilities:

  • The incumbent should have detailed data about the WHO Core Components of IPC programs, standard and transmission-based precautions, surveillance, healthcare outbreak detection and response, conduct change, antimicrobial resistance, and high quality improvement. Detailed data of the Ethiopia well being care system and structures and familiarity with Ministry of Health policies, program priorities, and rules is required.
